Buhari slogan takes over Gombe PDP rally

E-mail Print PDF

From Auwal Ahmad, Gombe

Slogans for Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday took over the campaign venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally in Bojoga, Gombe state, at the expense of its own candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan.
The chants began the moment all speakers, especially the party’s candidates mounted the podium. While the candidates were shouting the PDP slogans, the crowd responded with the shout of  “Nigeria sai Buhari!” ( meaning Nigeria Only Buhari!)  for the presidency.
However, for other offices, the crowd chanted in support for the PDP candidates.
Even when the state Governor, Danjuma Goje and the party’s gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo mounted the podium, it was the same response of “ Nigeria sai Buhari!” to the amazement of all that gathered at the Bajoga township stadium.
When the state Governor shouted “Gombe,” the crowd replied with “sai Dankwambo” but when he shouted “Nigeria,” the crowd responded with “Sai Buhari!” for more than three times.
All the candidates, especially for the governorship and senate seats, in their campaign speeches called on the people to vote for the entire PDP candidates, including President Jonathan, however got a negative response.
While leaving the venue, the campaign posters of Buhari were seen in virtually all the place, to the consternation of the top PDP members.

Testimony of a nIgerian why we didnt vote Buhari
written by ata, March 09, 2011
In 2011, GMB is not alone. He's supported by a team of volunteers online and offline who never voted for him before. We didn't vote for him, because we didn't know. We didn't know that he supervised and birthed our only existing refineries. We didn't know that what he did in road construction while in the PTF hasn't been matched by 12yrs of the PDP, even though some claimed they were lopsided. We didn't know that in his time as head of state he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era, even military). We didn't know that there was no religious crisis while he led.
We didn't know that JJ Rawlings of Ghana took over 2yrs before him, and killed all the corrupt leaders, while GMB merely gave his own, long-term jail sentences. We didn't know that the hospitals and universities around the country never witnessed as much benefits they got from the PTF from any government after or before his time. We did not know, that this man despite serving in senior capacity in the oil sector, has no petrol station, much less a rig, refinery or an oil block like so many of our leaders. We never voted him, because we did not know.
But now we know... We know that he has followership in the north that money can't buy. We know that those who follow him are poor, and follow him out of hope and belief in his values. I have met old men who know him, who have said... "All I need from Buhari is his word, I can take it to the bank". Now we know that here is someone that has been in everything to make him an IBB or Danjuma, but didn't take that road.
We feared he was an Islamic fundamentalist, but he challenged us to provide any human being who can point at anything he did to show that. Now we know, that it's about the values... The only former head of state that does not own a house in Abuja. Educate someone today! I just did

Buhari is the best Choice....
written by Haruna Mohammed Danjuma, March 09, 2011
Mr John Okorie just listen to yourself (this stupid crowd is supporting another candidate.). This is typical PDP behaviour calling Nigerians STUPID and yet you want their votes.

It is not of importance to me if people are jailed for committing an offence, because the actually did if it can be proven in the law court, what is important is how to elect the candidate that will move us forward. 12 years is a big period in anybody's life including you mr. john.

PDP must Go and the time is NOW!

Buhari is the man
written by Akpofabe joseph Currence, March 09, 2011
I know that Buhari has been maligned by those criminals who stole the country blind. They are afraid that if he wins, their ill-gotten wealth will be seized for the common good of the state. Buhari will restore Nigeria's glory. Nothing is working in Nigeria if we must tell ourselves the truth. About seven hundred companies have folded up or relocated to neighbouring countries yet we pretend to say things are all right with us. millions of Nigerian youths are roaming the streets without job and become willing tools in the hands of pdp as thugs. These thugs failed to ask them to bring their own children to join in the thuggery. This time around they will not succeed in their desperation to steal others mandate.
We will resist them. Let them dare the latent spirit of Nigeria for what happened in the Arab worlds will be a child's play.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TIV AND JUKUN'S IN TARABA AND BENUE STATE.
written by RAUR BUSARI, March 09, 2011
These two major tribes has for decades co-lived together without any problem rather with mutual understanding. They are predominantly farmers and they maitained lead in YAM production in the country. Thus, the largest YAM MARKET in West Africa is located in ZAKIBIAM in Taraba state.
Please share this trip to TARABA STATE AND BUNUE STATE with me. If you are travelling from Gboko in Benue down to Wukari in Taraba state the the exsisting town and villages between these renowned town are :Kastina-Ala, Zakibiam, Marabo,Tunenune,Pekiya,Kado etc. If you vist this areas as aforestated you will be entertained with pounded yam which is very strong in nature with stew in a small wood with hole and varieties of meat.
You hardly distinguished between these tribes i.e Junkun and Tiv. It sounds funny but more realistic and ridiculous that the so call largest party in Africa PDP "PEOPLE'S DEVASTATING PATY" detrabalised the co-exisisting relation between these people all because of the Ritered General Victor Malu the then Chief of Army staff under the ritered biased general Obasanjo as civilian president in 1999. When he appointed Gen Malu as Chief of Army Staff I felt quite grieved about the appointments. But I was in no distance time opportuned to rob minds with two retired Brigadier Gen,one from yoruba and the other from Igbo land. I question the appointment of Gen Malu but they both told me that Gen Malu is on of the best solders Nigeria has ever produce. This is a Gen. WHO KNOWS HIS ONION. Not quite long Malu started having problems with Obasanjo just because Obasanjo allowed foreign expatraites in all Nigeria military formations.
As a professional army with real discipline, he told Obasanjo that this act is unethical and posed security danger to the nation. As you all know of Obasanjo that he loves STOOGE like president Goodluck Jonathan, the bold comfrontation from Malu nevr went well with him, and this informed Malu's untimely retirement. Malu as a TIV man, was the reason why Obasanjo and PDP initiated fracas between this two tribes. U can remembered how how he sent army to kill Tv.

It is on this note that am appealling to the JUNKUN;S and TIV' 'S to VOTE PDP ,JONATHAN AND OBASANJO OUT OF POWER.

YOU WILL BOTH ENJOY LIBERTY AND BENEFITS OF DEMOCRACY UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF BUHARI AND THIS IS BILLED TO THE ENTIRE NATION AT LARGE.

I have read through the history of Nigeria, throughout almost the 52 years of Nigeria’s existance as a nation Gen. Buhari stands out as a symbol of honesty, prudence, accountability, good governance and uprightness. and if patriotism and sincerity were to exist in Nigeria as a person it’s only Gen. Buhari to both friends and opponents. Lets join our hands and vote for change 2011, vote C P C. ONE VOTE for TWO HONEST MEN.

Nigeria must change
written by Lekan Ojenike, March 10, 2011
Nigeria must change. Yes, Nigeria must change. And the time for that change is now. However, the change is sure to come only if Nigerians will vote Buhari and protect their votes. Only if Nigerians vote him for President and make their votes count can Nigerians rest assured that the nation's wealth will be judiciously employed to make life better for the generality of the Nigerian people. Then, a vote for Buhari is a vote in the right direction.

Let Nigerians be wise this time, and say boldly to the hawks in our political firmament that enough is enough. And truly, enough is enough. We have had enough of the looting of our nation's treasury--our common wealth--by some cliques of selfish, greedy and godless but murderous leaders.

Nigeria must be saved. The country must be saved from the jaws of PDP. Now is the time of her salvation, which is why we must vote Buhari whom we have tested and who has convinced us of his integrity, his love for positive changes and his intolerance of acts that make life tough for the common man.

Vote Buhari/Bakare. And you will NEVER regret you did.

Up NIGERIA!

The dare-devil bunch of looters & scavengers in PDP have dragged us back rather than forward that we need to fast track the pace of development in Nigeria, and this can only come via Gen. Buhari/Bakare candidacy. Let's take this campaign beyond religious, party & tribal borders.

All the PDP stalwarts re aged men of no integrity, reputation, discipline, honesty, conscience & no regard for the people of Nigeria. Buhari has proven to be disciplined, honest & fit to lead us to the new Nigeria. Vote Buhari/Bakare!
